Dear Parents,
Several years ago, the Diocese of Baton Rouge mandated that each school develop an anti bullying program. MBS formed a committee to research what program would best fit our needs. This committee was comprised of administration, teachers, and some parental input and we met monthly throughout the year.
For the 2013-2014 school year, we implemented a school wide program called "Have You Filled a Bucket Today?" This character development program promotes kindness, compassion, and resiliency, while reducing negativity and self centeredness.
For the 2014-2015 school year we have decided to continue with this Bucket Filling Program because of the success that we had last year. With this School year's theme, "My Best Side...Living the Gospel of Joy", we have taken elements from the Fruits of the Holy Sprit to incorporate into our bucket filling character education process. Each month we will look at a Fruit of the Spirit/Character Trait and examine ways to live our daily journey to fill the buckets of our students, families, faculty and staff.
We are asking for your support and that you familiarize yourself with the program by visiting the website www.bucketfillers101.com and clicking on the heading FAQ. We hope that you will reinforce the concepts of this program at home too.
